WV Partnership Workgroups
The Partnership has established several workgroups (listed below) to carry out its work. Each workgroup consists of at least three Partnership members and is staffed by a WV Prevention Resource Center staff member. Workgroups may also include other non-Partners who have volunteered to participate because of their expertise in and experience with a workgroup's particular focus. Communication, Procedures, Legislative Affairs Workgroup
Purpose / Tasks: Develop and maintain By-Laws and other policies/procedures as needed; Monitor membership; Facilitate appointments; Monitor attendance; Advise marketing activities/projects (including Partnership website, annual report, listserve); Facilitate official Partnership communication with the Governor's Office & Legislature (attend meetings with staff when necessary, present to committees when requested, provide content for State of the State address, etc.); Monitor/review Legislation regarding substance abuse.

Epidemiological/ Evaluation / Research Workgroup
WV's State Epidemiological and Outcomes WG
Purpose/Tasks:Serve in an advisory capacity to the WV Partnership on the collection and analysis of archival indicator data and/or other primary data collection efforts as part of a statewide needs assessment; Advise the WV Children and Familiies Funding Study
Goals: Bring systematic, analytical thinking to prevention; Promote data-driven decision making; Provide core support for data-driven decision-making to the WV Partnership on the basis of an analysis of epidemiological data compiled at the state, county, and to the extent possible, sub-county geographic levels.

Evidence-Based Practices Workgroup
Purpose/Tasks:Review and approve all community-level strategies including EBPs and Non-EBPs prior to implementation.

Sub-Granting Workgroup
Purpose: Develop and maintain sub-granting process/materials(applications,criteria); Review sub-grant applications; With the authority of the Partnership, make sub-grant recomendations to the Governor; Provide sub-grantees guidance on implementation of grant-funded activities to ensure compliance with funding source guidelines.

Substance Abuse Early Intervention Workgroup
Purpose/Tasks: Advises the development, implementation, and evaluation of four local demonstration projects targeting youth in the onset stages of substance abuse. Programs provide parent and youth orientation, and youth screening, prevention education, and follow up.

Underage Drinking Prevention (UDP) Workgroup
WV's EUDL Planning & Evaluation Committee
Purpose/Tasks: Coordinate underage drinking prevention efforts in WV; Serve as the Planning and Evaluation Committee for the Enforcing the Underage Drinking Laws (EUDL) grant-funded statewide social marketing initiative.
