"Bringing Home The Governor's Plan To Address Substance Abuse"

General Information

Bringing Home The Governor's Plan to Address Substance Abuse

Each fall, Share The Vision brings together hundreds of prevention-oriented West Virginians for two days of workshops, keynote speakers, exhibits and networking opportunities. Participants include community coalition members, prevention and treatment professionals, educators, law enforcement, counselors, social workers, youth, and representatives of various state and local organizations.

This year's conference follows the 2009 Governor's Drug Summit, which will officially unveil our state's plan for addressing substance abuse. Share The Vision workshops and keynotes will provide information and skills needed to implement WV's plan at the community level.

Share The Vision 2009 will also focus on prescription drug abuse, which has increased substantially amoung all ages in recent years. Consequences such as fatal overdoses and hospitalization for dependence, abuse, and poisoning are on the rise.

Working together at the grassroots level and across the state, we can reduce the impact of substance abuse in the Mountain State.
