Comprehensive, multi-strategy community interventions can reduce alcohol-related problems. Merchant Education

Providing retailers with information and tips can reduce sales of alcohol to underage customers, thus limiting the retail access of these products to youth.  Important documents related to merchant education are listed below.  If your organization is interested in more information please contact Stephanie Southall

Youth Environmental Strategies

Youth Environmental Strategies (YES) are designed to reduce the social and retail availability of alcohol to minors. This goal is achieved by bringing young people together with adult community partners and law enforcement to work towards changing laws, strengthening enforcement, and advocating through the media. Teams of young people execute these strategies that will produce measurable outcomes. Activities include alcohol purchase surveys, compliance checks, shoulder tap surveys, merchant education, and sticker shock.
